Most freelancers can become confused with the requirements of the jobs that he or she has placed a bid on. This is as a result of having to read and remember every job that you have bid on which is not as easy as it sounds. Each job listing normally has their own different types of descriptions and milestones as well as details as to exactly what each client wants. If the wrong job is submitted or work is not done correctly, payment will not be made and your freelancer rating may be affected.
It is therefore a very good idea to keep a writing pad close by on which you can write down details on separate jobs. The first important detail which should be written down is the online name of the employer. This is to ensure that when you are contacted with regard to a job, you will know which job they are talking about. Secondly, the rate of each respective job needs to be listed in order to be able to work out a rate at which you can earn money by doing that specific job.
Normally the client will offer a rate per job and disregard the rate posted in your earlier bid on that project. Bidding low is the easiest way of being awarded a job as employers turn to freelancers to save money. If this is the first job you are bidding on, go for the lowest bid available as the employer will test your skills first and offer you a rate accordingly. The personal mail that you send to the employer through the website should contain specific details about your bid so that the supplier may understand what you are bidding for and for how much.
This personal mail should contain details about yourself and working abilities such as how long you have been doing that specific job, when you can start with the respective project and how many jobs you can complete on a daily basis. This mail will only be seen by the job supplier but no personal contact details are allowed to be posted. Personal contact between you and the employer will only occur once the job has been awarded to you and you have accepted it. The freelancing website will then mail you the employers personal mail id as well as mailing your personal mail id to the employer.
One of the most important things to remember when freelancing is to always stay in contact with the employer. There are several reasons for this but the main reason would have to be more work. This is as a result of you knowing when the deadlines are and exactly what the employer wants by the specified deadline as well as not being able to forget what the mission was as they will continuously put a little pressure on you to finish before the actual deadline. This is because they would also like some time to go through your work and maybe even correct the mistakes for you as well as applying some sort of copy recognition software to ensure that your work is original.
