Steps to blur background in Photoshop
Step 1: Open Adobe Photoshop program. In this tutorial, we are using Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 but if you have earlier version or later version then also it works.
Step 2: Next, open image where you want to blur the background. To open, click File >> Open or simply press Ctrl+O and select file. Next, click on the Open button.
Step 3: Next, click Magnetic Lasso Tool (or Press – L). Make selection on image (object or person). Make sure you set Feather to 5 or 7 px.
Step 4: Next, from the menu bar choose Select >> Inverse (Shortcut – Shift+Ctrl+I).
Step 5: Next, from menu bar, click on Filter >> Blur >> Motion Blur.
Step 6: In the Motion Blur window set Distance = 100 pixels, Angle = 0 degree and click on the OK.
Step 7: Next, to remove the selection, click on the Select >> Deselect (Shortcut – Ctrl+d).
Step 8: Finally, your background is blurred without the object you wish not to blur. In case if you want to blur the whole picture then set motion blur without selecting object. Jump directly from Step 2 to Step 5.
Sometimes the blur effect with make your picture look good.
