You may want to flip image which is wrongly flipped. There are two ways of flipping image. Either you can flip the whole canvas or just an image. In this tutorial, we are showing you how to flip image as well as canvas in Photoshop.
How to flip image in Photoshop (canvas)
Step 1: Make sure you have already installed Photoshop. Open the Photoshop program.
Step 2: Open image which you would like to flip. To open, select File >> Open or press Ctrl+O and select the file. Click on Open button.
Step 3: Next, click on Image -> Image Rotation -> Flip Canvas Horizontal.
Step 4: By now, you will see complete image along with canvas has flipped vertically.
How to flip a section of an image in Photoshop
Step 1: You may want to flip a particular object or image instead of flipping whole canvas. To do that, open the image which you want to flip. Make selection on the object or image using Magnetic Lasso Tool (Shortcut – L).
Step 2: You may get distortion on the background image if the selected portion is flipped directly. To avoid, we will create new layer (click on the Create new layer button located at the lower section of Layers palette). Just incase if Layers palette is not shown, press F7 or you can click on Window >> Layers. Next, copy the selection by clicking Edit -> Copy or press Ctrl + C . Make sure Background layer is selected.
Step 3: Select the new layer in Layers palette and paste by clicking Edit >> Paste or press Ctrl+V.
Step 4: From menu bar, choose Edit -> Transform -> Flip Horizontal
Flipping object looks good when you want to give twin effect on your pictures. Sometimes you want to make the image or object duplicated or multiple and make them look different.
