WordPress is an open source Blogging platform and it is based on CMS with PHP and MYSQL which runs on different web hosting services. WordPress is simple because you can create a blog and can run it without changing any code. It is excellent because it has thousands of templates from which you can choose, and it is effective and powerful because you can post your thoughts with just a one click on a button.

WordPress needs PHP, MYSQL and web server (apache) and installation of different applications , because each application offers configuration and modification of core files, that only a person well acquainted with the files would know what the heck is up to. Xampp is an open source platform and a web server package, which mainly consists of MySQL database, HTTP server (apache) and interpreters for PHP and Perl programming scripts. It is a tool which helps the programmers to test their work without an internet access.
1. Download and install Xampp
You can download Xampp; this can easily be done with free software. Click the install, once the download is completed, you will enter into an installation directory.
Go further for the installation process and for this there is no requirement to adjust default installation settings.
2. Set Up Xampp
Once the process of installation has been completed, load Xampp and begin with the modules of Apache and MySQL.
Select unblock. Once it is completed, you must have the running local server and then check in your browser by entering http://localhost/ in address bar. You will observe as follows.
3. Create a database
When you start the “Apache server” and” MySQL”, select the “MySQL Admin button”.
“PhpMyAdmin” will open up in a browser tab. Select the “Database” menu – then you will create database:
4. Download, Configure and Install WordPress
If you get a confirmation that you are done with database. Then download WordPress and save it as docs (its root folder). If you have copy paste WordPress then open the browser and type the URL- “http://localhost/wordpress/” in address bar.
Then it will ask to create a configuration file click the configuration button. Then WordPress take some information about database name, username and password.
When we submit these and if everything is “ok“then the message will be shown as:
Go to the run and install and fill the email, name blog name. After this procedure, you should get username and password for login. Use the URL localhost/wordpress/wp-admin” to login to your WordPress blog admin panel.
Hence the WordPress is installed in Windows with Xammp.
