How to Add a Guest Post

It seems like a simple concept when you first hear it. But its anything but simple when you are working with people you have had little communication with. Everyone likes theres posted just a bit different and they all have their own way of doing things. You will probable have to make a edit or two after the post goes live. Thats just all part of the job thought. Today we will walk you through everything you would need to know.

The first ting you will have to do is talk with your author. Help them pick out a topic. Make sure that they know what your site is about and what your values are. This way they provide articles that your viewers will want to read. Give them some suggestions to start with and have them change it for their writing style. The most important thing is to make sure they run the final title by you first.

Now a few days they email you back with a nice piece of work along with their author bio. Do not forget to create them a new user spot and add in all their info. If they have a link in the bio make sure that it properly goes into the bio. You can always code it into the bio if you really need to. Along with this make sure that when you post their piece that it has their name on it. To change the author on a work first you must go to screen options in the top left hand corner of the add new post section. There click on the author box(you only need to do this once). Then below the text box will be the author box. Now just select who wrote it and you are all set.

Now when you copy and paste their post into the text box their formatting will get messed up. Try and copy exactly what they had format wise into the text box. Headings are the biggest offender here. They normally switch to the same format as everything else. Then check to make sure everything else looks right. Normally you wont find many spelling and grammar mistakes but it always helps to check. Spell check will normally do most of the work for you here. It also helps to read through and revise anything you think you can to make it something your viewers will enjoy more. The main focus here is making sure you have a good quality piece of work that your readers will appreciate. As long as you do this then you will not have a single problem and your guest authors will be begging to write for you again.
